On Friday, 13 June 2014, in the evening at 21:15, in Šilutės district municipality, on the Stoniškiai–Katyčiai–Degučiai regional road (kilometre 9.50), an Audi 100 hit an obstacle. Two people were injured — the 16-year-old driver of the Audi (hospitalized, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 22-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the Audi, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
