On Sunday, 15 June 2014, in the afternoon at 15:35, in Druskininkų municipality, on the Druskininkai–Leipalingis–Seirijai national road (kilometre 2.72), a Mazda 323 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Mazda, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.02‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
