On Saturday, 21 June 2014, in the afternoon at 14:15, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road (kilometre 64.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Audi 80 and an Audi A4 Avant. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Audi 80 (18 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
