On Sunday, 13 July 2014, at night at 1:15, in Marijampolės municipality, on the Marijampolė–Liudvinavas–Krosna national road (kilometre 7.80), an Audi A6 Avant ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Audi, who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
