On Friday, 1 August 2014, in the morning at 5:40, in Šilutės district municipality, Traksėdžių village, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a Nissan Primera hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Nissan, who failed to choose a safe speed and fell asleep at the wheel. He was drunk (2.52‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
