On Monday, 4 August 2014, in the morning at 8:26, in Telšių district municipality, on the Šiauliai–Palanga main road, an Audi 80 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Audi (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (3.08‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
