On Tuesday, 5 August 2014, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Rietavo municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Plungė–Tauragė national road (kilometre 70.80), an Audi 80 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Audi (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
