On Saturday, 9 August 2014, in the afternoon at 16:20, in Zarasų district municipality, Karčiomkos village, on the Vosyliškis–Stelmužė–Raudaskola regional road (kilometre 3.60), a Ford Fiesta registered in Latvia hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Ford (a citizen of Latvia) (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
