On Tuesday, 19 August 2014, in the evening at 22:45, in Kupiškio district municipality, on Krantinės street near No. 24, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz C250 and a Peugeot 307. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
