On Friday, 22 August 2014, in the afternoon at 16:16, in Tauragės district municipality, on Prezidento street, at the junction with Vytauto street, a Volvo S80 hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 80-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 49-year-old driver of the Volvo (15 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
