On Sunday, 24 August 2014, in the afternoon at around 16:00, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Panevėžys (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 17), a BMW 530 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
