On Tuesday, 26 August 2014, in the morning at 8:30, in Kaunas, on Ateities pl., at the junction with Palemono street, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Renault Espace and a KTM Duke II. One person was injured — the 18-year-old driver of the KTM (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 55-year-old driver of the Renault (15 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
