On Wednesday, 27 August 2014, in the evening at 21:30, in Tauragės district municipality, on Gedimino street, at a yard or parking-lot exit, a collision occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Toyota Corolla Verso. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
