On Thursday, 28 August 2014, in the afternoon at 15:09, in Šiaulių district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 72.25), a BMW 523i registered in Great Britain rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the BMW (19 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet.
