On Saturday, 6 September 2014, in the morning at 9:17, in Kalvarijos municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 86.94), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo FH registered in Belarus, a Schmitz registered in Slovenia, a Citroen Xsara, a Hyundai Getz, a DAF 33 registered in Slovenia, a Koegel SN 24 registered in Belarus and a Mercedes-Benz Atego 1228 registered in Latvia. Two people were injured — the 45-year-old driver of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient) and a 40-year-old passenger of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient).
