On Friday, 19 September 2014, in the afternoon at 14:55, in Marijampolės municipality, on Vytauto street near No. 76, an Opel Astra-F-Caravan registered in Poland hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 39-year-old driver of the Opel (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
