On Saturday, 27 September 2014, in the evening at 20:20, in Šakių district municipality, on Taikos street near No. 76, a collision occurred. The collision involved a Fiat Ducato and a Mitsubishi Carisma. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Fiat, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.82‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
