On Monday, 29 September 2014, in the evening at around 20:00, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Kiti keliai local road (kilometre 4.25), a Volkswagen Golf rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.16‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
