On Tuesday, 30 September 2014, in the morning at 9:30, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 39.15), a head-on collision occurred. Four people were injured — the 21-year-old driver of the Audi (treated as an outpatient), a 19-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt), a 18-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient) and a 26-year-old passenger of the Audi (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 58-year-old driver of the Mazda (40 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober.
