On Wednesday, 8 October 2014, in the evening at around 18:00, in Šakių district municipality, Rėžgalių village, on the Slavikai–Sudargas regional road (kilometre 10.70), a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Ford Mondeo and a Mitsubishi Pajero. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. She had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
