On Sunday, 12 October 2014, in the morning at 9:10, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Vandžiogala national road (kilometre 14.60), a Volkswagen Golf hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
