On Tuesday, 14 October 2014, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Akmenės district municipality, on the Naujoji Akmenė–Venta national road (kilometre 11.87), a Renault Magnum 440.19 rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Renault (27 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.69‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
