On Monday, 27 October 2014, in the afternoon at 16:26, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Šakinių village, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 295.60), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Subaru Impreza, a Mercedes-Benz 1840 and a FBL LCT. One person was injured — the 41-year-old driver of the Subaru (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Subaru (22 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He was drunk (1.34‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
