On Monday, 10 November 2014, in the morning at around 6:00, in Panevėžys, on Nemuno street near No. 62, a vehicle hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. A 41-year-old pedestrian was drunk (2.02‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
