On Thursday, 13 November 2014, at night at around 1:00, in Pagėgių municipality, Kucių village, on the Rukai–Šilgaliai–Žaliapieviai regional road (kilometre 2.68), a Volkswagen Sharan hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (28 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.11‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
