On Tuesday, 25 November 2014, in the evening at around 20:00, in Kaunas, on Vandžiogalos street, at the junction with 86 street, an Opel Zafira hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by a 41-year-old pedestrian, who committed other traffic rule violations and was walking at night without reflectors (light, hi-vis vest). He was drunk (2.80‰ blood alcohol). The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
