On Monday, 22 December 2014, in the evening at around 21:00, in Druskininkų municipality, on Kosčiuškos street near No. 3, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 318 and a Volkswagen Passat. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the BMW, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
