On Monday, 5 January 2015, in the evening at 19:12, in Kaunas, on Smėlio street near No. 7, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW 316 and a Peugeot 307. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the BMW (3 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
