On Friday, 9 January 2015, in the morning at around 7:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta d. pusė) main road (kilometre 23), a MAN TGA 18.440 registered in Poland ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the MAN (a citizen of Poland) (30 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
