On Friday, 9 January 2015, in the evening at 22:30, in Kėdainių district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Aristava–Sitkūnai main road (kilometre 43), a Scania registered in Poland ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 32-year-old driver of the Scania (a citizen of Poland) (10 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, there was freezing rain, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
