On Sunday, 11 January 2015, in the morning at 7:15, in Šiaulių district municipality, Lieporių village, on Mažosios Lietuvos street, at the junction with Prūsų street, a Citroen Xsara Picasso ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Citroen (4 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.66‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
