Drunk Honda driver and Skoda crash at Seniavos highway and Kiečių street, Kaunas

On Monday, 12 January 2015, in the afternoon at 16:50, in Kaunas, on Seniavos highway, at the junction with Kiečių street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Honda Accord and a Skoda Octavia Combi. One person was injured — the 50-year-old driver of the Skoda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Honda (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. She was drunk (2.63‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
