On Sunday, 1 February 2015, in the morning at 5:50, in Skuodo district municipality, on the Mažeikiai–Skuodas national road (kilometre 50), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Renault Megane Scenic and an Audi A4. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 44-year-old driver of the Renault, who entered the oncoming traffic lane. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
