On Tuesday, 3 February 2015, in the morning at 7:45, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (k. pusė) main road (kilometre 101), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Renault Premium and an Opel Signum. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 62-year-old driver of the Renault (40 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
