On Wednesday, 4 February 2015, in the evening at 21:30, in Akmenės district municipality, Kruopių town, on Papilės street near No. 16, a Citroen XM hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Citroen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
