On Sunday, 8 February 2015, in the evening at 20:30, in Varėnos district municipality, Liškiavos village, on Švietimo street near No. 3, a BMW X5 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the BMW (23 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 40 km/h.
