On Wednesday, 4 March 2015, at night at 23:58, in Prienų district municipality, on the Antakalnis–Jieznas–Alytus–Merkinė national road (kilometre 32.10), an Opel Astra-G-Caravan ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the Opel (17 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.94‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
