On Saturday, 11 April 2015, in the afternoon at 16:03, in Elektrėnų municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 50), a Volkswagen Jetta rolled over. Three people were injured — a 34-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized), a 8-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized) and a 7-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
