On Tuesday, 14 April 2015, in the morning at 10:59, in Kalvarijos municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai main road (kilometre 80.65), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Iveco 440 registered in Turkey, a Volvo FH12 registered in Estonia, a Volvo FH 42T, a DAF FT XF 105.460, a Schmitz Cargobull S.CS24-13.62, a Koegel SN 24 and a Schmitz SCF24T. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 59-year-old driver of the Iveco (a citizen of Turkey) (21 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
