On Thursday, 30 April 2015, in the evening at 22:23, in Kretingos district municipality, on the Salantai–Grūšlaukė–Benaičiai regional road (kilometre 2.15), a Ford Mondeo rolled over. Two people were injured — the 22-year-old driver of the Ford (severely injured, hospitalized) and a 40-year-old passenger of the Ford (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.06‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. A 40-year-old passenger of the Ford was drunk (2.85‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
