On Tuesday, 5 May 2015, at night at 1:09, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Anulynai–Tirkšliai regional road (kilometre 25.65), a BMW 535 D rolled over. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 29-year-old driver of the BMW (10 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. A 32-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.39‰). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
