On Tuesday, 12 May 2015, in the evening at 19:50, in Alytaus district municipality, on the Alytus–Simnas–Kalvarija national road (kilometre 12.70), a collision with a moped occurred. The collision involved a moped and an Iveco Daily 35C14. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of a moped (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
