On Wednesday, 13 May 2015, in the afternoon at 15:30, in Joniškio district municipality, on the Privažiuojamasis kelias prie Lieporių regional road (kilometre 1.43), a Mazda 323 ran off the road. One person was injured — a 49-year-old passenger of the Mazda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Mazda, who committed other traffic rule violations and failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry.
