On Thursday, 28 May 2015, in the evening at 17:26, in Telšių district municipality, Rainių village, on Aušros street near No. 8, in a yard, a Volvo V70 hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 11-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 20-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He was drunk (0.10‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 20 km/h.
