On Sunday, 31 May 2015, in the afternoon at 11:19, in Trakų district municipality, on the Vilnius–Prienai–Marijampolė main road (kilometre 21.89), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Frontera and a Volkswagen Tiguan. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 23-year-old driver of the Opel (4 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance and failed to choose a safe speed. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
