On Monday, 15 June 2015, in the evening at 18:59, in Šalčininkų district municipality, Kalesninkų village, on Jono Pauliaus Ii street near No. 31, a BMW 320D hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 45-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the BMW (6 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
