On Sunday, 28 June 2015, in the evening at 20:58, in Akmenės district municipality, Stipirkių village, on Kaštonų street near No. 41, a Mercedes-Benz C270 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 64-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (20 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.29‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
