On Sunday, 5 July 2015, in the afternoon at around 14:00, in Druskininkų municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 126), a Ford Mondeo ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Ford (3 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
