On Sunday, 5 July 2015, in the morning at 5:25, in Šilalės district municipality, Vaičių village, on the Mažonai–Šakvietis–Šilalė regional road (kilometre 23.14), a Volkswagen Golf rolled over. Two people were injured — the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (severely injured, hospitalized) and a 16-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (3 years of driving experience), who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs, failed to choose a safe speed and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk. A 16-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen was drunk. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
