On Sunday, 2 August 2015, in the evening at around 17:00, in Druskininkų municipality, on Gardino street near No. 38, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 323 and an Opel Astra Station Wagon. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Mazda, who committed other traffic rule violations, failed to keep a safe distance and entered the oncoming traffic lane. He was drunk (1.60‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
